Hiroyuki Kudo, PhD

Hiroyuki Kudo received the B.Sc. degree from the Department of Electrical Communications, Tohoku University, Japan, in 1985,and the Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University, in 1990. In 1992, he joined the University of Tsukuba, Japan, as an Assistant Professor. He is currently a Professor with the Division of Information Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Information and Systems, University of Tsukuba, Japan. His research areas include medical imaging, image processing, and inverse problems. Particularly, he is actively working on tomographic image reconstruction for X-ray CT, PET, SPECT, and electron tomography. He is a member of IEEE, the Japanese Society of Medical Imaging Technology (JAMIT), and IEICE, Japan. He received the best paper award several times from various domestic and international academic societies. In particular, his papers on interior tomography published in 2008 were selected as High Lights of the two journals, Physics in Medicine and Biology and Inverse Problems. In 2014, he received the fellow award from IEICE, Japan. For 2011-2016, he was an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medical Imaging Technology (MIT) at JAMIT. From 2016, he is a vice president of JAMIT.
