Authors: Carita Tsoi, James Francis Griffith, Ryan Ka Lok Lee, Priscilla Ching Han Wong, Lai Shan Tam

The clinical need to diagnose sacroiliitis at an early stage means that imaging of the sacroiliac joints is being more frequently performed, particularly with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This review outlines the imaging approach to sacroiliitis, emphasizing diagnostic criteria and potential mimics on MRI examination. The value of imaging-guided intervention in sacroiliac disease is also briefly outlined.
